Meh

I keep it short and simple

Anatomy of a Misfit

Anatomy of a Misfit - Andrea Portes At first I really couldn't take this book seriously. I expected it to just be a funny read. As I read more, though some of it was a bit far-fetched, I couldn't help but begin to love the book. I don't know why I loved a book that was so cheesy and dumb and immature at times I wanted to gag myself, but love is a crazy thing.

Top Ten Clues You're Clueless - Liz Czukas Couldn't finish
SPOILER ALERT!

The Bodies We Wear

The Bodies We Wear - Jeyn Roberts This book was not spectacular. Honestly, now that I'm finished with it, I doubt I'll remember much of it. Basically, a girl who thinks she's oh so special has a six year pity party. Then, she realizes she's not special. I don't know why, but this book just didn't do it for me. Maybe its because the main character was so bullheaded that I couldn't relate to her. Whatever it was, it's probably about a three star book, as even though I really didn't like it, it was an average read.

The Host

The Host - Stephenie Meyer Wasn't a terrible read. At times I found myself skimming, but I was engaged with the plot.
SPOILER ALERT!

Take Back the Skies

Take Back the Skies - Lucy Saxon I rarely write long reviews, but I've a feeling this one is going to be the lengthiest one yet!

This book made me feel so many emotions, and they were strong. Actually, this was recommended to me by a friend, not because it was good, but because it was so awful. She said, and I quote "I wanted to throw it against the wall, but I couldn't as I was in a hotel and the neighbors would hear."

Of course, only reading it myself would make me believe any book was that terrible, so I take it and have a read.

The first thing I notice is that the writing is sub-par. I can deal with a stupid book as long as I like the writing style, but the author's language and writing style left much to be desired.

Once I finally got the hang of reading the wonky style, the next thing to annoy me was quite petty, I'll admit: Tellus? Americus? Fox? How about no?

That, however, isn't enough to give a book one star. The story itself pissed me off. She runs away to escape being married to someone she doesn't love, which is fine by me. She meets your stereotypical guy. Sure. She falls for him. Okay. Fatal mistake one: the author kills off Fox. Why the heck did I learn so much about him if you're going to kill him in the last ten pages? That is NOT OKAY. It wasn't necessary! No! No! Then, to add insult to injury, the protagonist marries the prince, whom, I add, SHE DOES NOT LOVE. Isn't that the whole reason she ran away? Why is Fox even here? Why? Why? Why?

I did throw this book.
SPOILER ALERT!

The Valley of Amazement

The Valley of Amazement - Amy Tan I liked this book a lot. Not enough to re-read often, if at all, but I was glad I read it. I myself never got over Edward's death. Why couldn't she be with him? Of course, I know why, but the tragedy! Anyway, this book was satisfying to read, and I'd recommend it.

How to Save a Life

How to Save a Life - Sara Zarr I remember reading this book and immediately wanting to tell everyone about, but also wanting to keep it for myself. I loved the characters, the story, the vibe of the book. I definitely would add this to the short list of books I'd re-read.

Kiss Kill Vanish

Kiss Kill Vanish - Jessica Martinez While some of it made me question what the author was thinking when she wrote it, Mose of this book made an enjoyable read.

Oblivion

Oblivion - Sasha Dawn What's going on? What just happened? Why did she do that? Why is this relevant? Oh, I got it! No. Never mind.

Love Letters to the Dead

Love Letters to the Dead - Ava Dellaira Some events are just thrown in. Sky himself seems thrown in. I'm not convinced a freshman could do all that stuff, but maybe it's just me. I hated how stupid the girl acted most of the time. Like get over yourself. Anyway, besides all that, I ended up still liking her story.

Cinder

Cinder - Marissa Meyer I liked it! She does give us too much information which gives away some of her "surprises", but it's still a delightful read.

Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct - S.E. Green, Shannon Greenland While part of me liked this book, part of me was unimpressed with the obvious trying too hard and u satisfied with the story in general.

Altered

Altered - Jennifer Rush I could not take this book seriously. I found myself laughing incredulously during serious scenes. It wasn't a bad book; it just wasn't good.

Mortal Danger

Mortal Danger - Ann Aguirre So much could've been done with this book, but I was disappointed. She is a genius, but makes the dumbest decisions. The book was unbelievable. I will not read the sequel.

We Were Liars

We Were Liars - E. Lockhart It was an easy read, but a little overrated.

No Place to Fall

No Place to Fall - Jaye Robin Brown Expected this book to be terrible based on the blurb on the back. It turned out to be really cute.
